February Frenzy OPEN Chess Tournament
USCF Rated

Format and Prizes:

This USCF-rated tournament will consist of 4 Rounds with a time control of G/60 and is for our more experienced players who want to play for money prizes.

Sections:

USCF-Rated Sections: OPEN, U1600, and U1200
(players must have current USCF membership which may be purchased on site)

Prizes:

70% of the entry fees will be returned as prizes, and prizes will be given to the first and second overall in the each Section.

Entry Fee:

$30 if received by Feb. 24; $40 at site.

Round Times:

Round 1 at 10:00 am. Rounds 2-4 will follow as soon as possible.

On-Site Registration & Check-in:

9:15 - 9:45 a.m. After 9:45 a.m. a 1/2-pt. bye may be awarded for the first round.

Miscellaneous:

Please bring your own chess boards, pieces, and clock, if available. Chess vendor (Cajun Chess) will be on site.

February Frenzy SCHOLASTIC Chess Tournament

Format and Prizes:

The Scholastic Chess Tournament will consist of 4 rounds with a time control of G/30 (each opponent will have 30 minutes to complete his/her game).

Sections:

USCF-rated Sections: OPEN, U700 (USCF membership required)*

Non-USCF rated Section: UNRATED (USCF membership NOT required) [NOTE: If a player has a USCF membership and/or rating, they are not eligible to play in the UNRATED section.]

*USCF membership may be purchased or renewed on site.

Prizes:

Trophies to the top 3 winners in each section; ribbons to all non-trophy winners.

Entry Fee:

$15 if received by Feb. 24; $20 at site.

Round Times:

Round 1 will begin at 1:00 pm. Rounds 2-4 will follow as soon as possible.
